As a young child, I loved Michael Jackson. The first song I can remember hearing him sing alone – and I believe it was his first solo – was Ben. At the time I didn’t realize the song was about a rat, and once I did, I understood why my mother hated the song! (She had an absolute terror of mice and rats!)
Micheal Jackson was about a year younger than me, and I was amazed at his rise to fame. I followed his career, bought a lot of his albums, including “Thriller” which I adore. I even have some of his records, including Ben. Yes, the original vinyls – they’re probably worth a mint.
Over the years, my love of Michael Jackson never left me. I did my utmost to ignore all the bad press, as I was interested in the musical talent of the man, not his private life, and not the controversy surrounding him.
After his sad and untimely death in 2009, instead of diminishing, Michael Jackson’s fan base has continued to grow. Famous for his innovative dance moves and unique outfits, you’ll not do better than a Micheal Jackson Costume this Halloween.
